Top of the list has to be our Gratin Dauphinois, the classic French potato, cream, garlic and cheese dish. We think some of our customers would have this even without the accompanying steak or duck!
Another big favourite is the Savoury Crepe, filled with tomatoes, ham, onions, mushrooms and the French staples of cream and cheese and served with a lovely chef’s salad.
Talking of salad, over the years many customers have asked for Jean-Paul’s recipe for vinaigrette and at one point our chef was wondering whether to mass produce it!
All our desserts are made on the premises and the pastry is just delicious. Lemon or strawberry tarts with a trickle of pouring cream are always a real treat as is the chocolate crepe with flambéed bananas
Sometimes though the simplest dishes are the best and poached eggs on toast is always a top seller, along with the very British Welsh Rarebit or a traditional cooked breakfast.
